What Is WSET?
The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is the world's leading organization for formal wine education, offering globally recognized certifications for professionals and enthusiasts. Its qualifications are respected by sommeliers, importers, retailers, and passionate wine lovers alike.
WSET offers four levels of certification:

Level 1 – Beginner:
A one-day introduction to wine styles, basic food pairings, and service. -
Level 2 – Intermediate:
Expands on grape varieties, regions, and key production methods; ideal for restaurant or retail staff. -
Level 3 – Advanced (this app's focus):
A detailed study of the natural and human factors influencing style, quality, and price of wines worldwide. It develops analytical tasting and reasoning skills using the Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT). -
Level 4 – Diploma:
A professional qualification equivalent to university-level study; the gateway to the Master of Wine (MW).
WSET vs. Sommelier Certifications
While sommelier programs (such as the Court of Master Sommeliers) emphasize service, blind tasting, and restaurant work, WSET focuses on understanding wine production, regions, and evaluation.

What the Level 3 Exam Involves
The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines exam has two parts:

Tasting:
A blind analysis of two wines using the Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) to describe appearance, nose, palate, and quality assessment.
